Fat & Happy
Fat & happy is the moment when an agency owner decides that things are fine as they are. Not lazy, not broken, just satisfied enough. And that is exactly when growth stops.
Why This Makes Perfect Sense
You have worked hard to get here. The bills are paid. The team is running. There is no crisis. It makes perfect sense to lean back at that point. Everything you have done tells your system: this is enough.
And if that mindset is not reprogrammed, it remains the mindset. Fat & happy is not a choice you consciously make. It is a state that slowly creeps in when there is no direction pulling you forward.
That is also what separates it from rest or confidence. Rest after a sprint is healthy. Fat & happy is a permanent state without a point B. You no longer know what you are working toward, so you stop working toward anything.
The Opposite
The Top 10% of agency owners do not work more hours. They have hunger. A direction that pulls them forward even when things are comfortable. Not because there is a fire, but because the bigger picture is greater than their current situation.
Fat & happy does not disappear by working harder. It disappears when there is something you want that you do not have yet. Something either grows or dies.
Compare it to a buffet where you have been sitting at the table for too long. The food is good, there is plenty of it, and that is exactly why you no longer get up. Creating the vacuum works because you ask for the bill before you are full: you give the money a purpose before it arrives, so there is something to move toward again. Chaos drugs is the opposite problem: too much urgency instead of too little.
Are you full enough to lean back? Then ask yourself: what is the biggest thing you still want to achieve this year, and what is at stake if you do not do it?
